By the time we reached anchorage the sun was out
It was beautiful along Turnigun Arm headed to the Kenai Peninsula.
We were here for two days. Time enough to do laundry 😒. We drove out to a very small town called Hope to get a view of the opposite side of Turnigun Arm.
Our first side trip was down to Homer. We spent the day here driving around and seeing the beautiful scenery along Cook Inlet and Katimack Bay. Let me tell u it is some of the most beautiful scenery I have seen with the mountains and the water.
Views along the route down to Homer. I think I could have sat here for every look at the mountains.

We drove out onto Homer Spit where we had lunch at Captain Patties. Yummy haddock freshly caught.
We also stopped at
Dinner was back in Soldotna where we were staying. The view was terrific as were the Nachos.
This morning we got up early checked out and drove to Seward. Here we took a glacier and wildlife cruise with Major Marine into Kenai National Park. It was 5 hours of pure wonder. WOW! It was the most beautiful day I think we have had and so perfect for the trip. It was wonderful. We saw otters before we had left the dock area. Then we saw whales both humpbacks and orcas. The humpbacks were particularly active. Unbelievable!!!!!! Here are just a few of the many picture we took of the wildlife. I just can't speak highly enough about this side trip. It was one of our favorite things this whole trip
We were right upon the glacier in Kenai Fjords NP. We saw it calf and heard it "talk" to us. It sounded like creaking and thunder.
How cool! We couldn't have had a better day.
We left there and headed back to anchorage. We drove through Turnigun Arm area again and it's not nearly as beautiful when the tide is out. 😞. We drove up to Wasilia where we are staying for the night at Pioneer Ridge Bed and Breakfast.
